Game Purpose

KS2 Word Problems is the next step after KS1 Word Problems. It focuses on reasoning: deciding what the question is asking, finding the useful numbers, and choosing the correct calculation.

The problem bank covers multi-step addition and subtraction, multiplication, division with remainders, money, measures, time, fractions of amounts, decimals, percentages, ratio, area and perimeter, missing numbers, and data tables.

Difficulty Levels

Easy
Mostly one-step and gentle two-step questions with multiple-choice answers.
Normal
KS2 reasoning with measures, remainders, fractions of amounts, and area/perimeter.
Hard
Typed answers for decimals, percentages, ratio, missing numbers, and data questions.
Crazy
Mixed KS2 reasoning with larger numbers and less obvious operation choices.

Teaching Tip

Ask children to read each problem twice: once for the story, then again to find the useful numbers and the operation. The hint appears after a short pause to support that habit.

Previous Step

For shorter reading-friendly questions with smaller numbers, start with KS1 Word Problems first.
